【Sanitary & Health Care Section Announcement】Response Measures for Positive COVID-19 Screening
In accordance with the announcement by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, starting from August 15, 2023, adjustments have been made to the support leave measures for individuals with positive mild or asymptomatic COVID-19 screenings. Thus, the guidelines have been revised to outline the handling of sick leave for faculty, staff, and students of universities and colleges. This revised process will adhere to the campus leave regulations, effective from August 15, 112.
- Response Measures for Faculty, Staff, and Students with Positive Screenings
The school should implement routine epidemic management. In the event of a positive COVID-19 screening on campus, the following preventive measures should be taken:
(1) Management of Individuals with Positive Screenings
- Individuals with mild or no symptoms: Follow the latest epidemic prevention measures outlined by the Ministry of Health and Welfare for self-health management. During the self-health management period, please adhere to the recommendations for self-health management of people with positive screenings for the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) as advised by the Ministry of Health and Welfare. If symptomatic, it is recommended to rest at home and avoid unnecessary outings. If an outing is necessary, please wear a mask at all times, avoid places where social distancing cannot be maintained or where close contact with unspecified individuals is likely, and refrain from engaging in close-contact or group activities (such as dining, gatherings, public events, or similar activities) with others.
- Individuals with complications (moderate to severe cases): Follow the latest epidemic prevention measures of the Ministry of Health and Welfare for isolation and treatment. After meeting the conditions for lifting isolation and treatment, these individuals may return to campus for classes.
- Individuals with positive screenings who are at high risk of developing severe symptoms should seek medical attention promptly.
- Leave for Faculty, Staff, and Students with Positive Screenings during the Epidemic Period
(1) Students:
- Individuals with positive mild or asymptomatic screenings: Follow the campus leave regulations.
- Individuals with positive moderate to severe screenings: Please follow the number of days specified in the quarantine and treatment notice for "Epidemic Isolation Leave." This will not count as an absence and will not affect their academic assessment.
(2) Faculty and staff: Individuals with positive mild or asymptomatic screenings: Follow the campus leave regulations.
