The Department of Information Management was founded in 1993, engaged in enrolling undergraduates and master's degree program students. In 1999, the Department started to enroll the in-service master degree program students. In 2005, it started to enroll 1st-term doctoral degree program students, as the first doctoral degree program of the private university's graduate school of information management admitted in Taiwan. In 2006, it entered into an agreement with Western Sydney University on the international dual master's degree program under which students may seek a dual master's degree from YZU and Western Sydney University at the same time. In 2011, it passed AACSB International certification as one of the departments of information management of 12 universities throughout Taiwan. In order to facilitate the digitalization of cross-strait enterprises and the cultivation of business decision-making talents, the Department of Information Management has worked with Xiamen University of Technology to organize the 3+1 master's degree program since 2013, and worked with Nanchang University and Yunnan University to organize the dual degree programs since 2014, with a view to expanding students’ views and deepening cross-strait academic exchanges. Since 2017, it has worked with the 6th Army Command to organize credit course programs. Meanwhile, it enrolled in-service graduate students in active military bases officially in 2018. For the time being, the Department of Information Management retains a total of 23 full-time teachers (including one contracted teacher) and admits about 470 undergraduates, 46 master's degree program students (including foreign students and exchange students), 78 in-service master's degree program students (including in-service master's degree program students who are active military personnel), and 17 doctoral degree program students.

Attract excellent students with different backgrounds with multi-channel college admissions, practice the concept of technology integration, stimulate students’ potential by means of pair-learning and execution of projects by teamwork in order to train talents with the key technological competence for the country and society.
2.Solid Practical Training
Provide diversified professional training opportunities so that students can engage in practical training in the relevant industries for one year from the second semester of their junior year until the first semester of their senior year or follow the Department’s teachers to engage in special study projects, and balance the students’ needs for education or employment through a combination of theories and practical experience.
3.Disciplinary Research
Combine the teachers’ expertise, encourage group research, focus on the development of “big data analysis” and “AI”, and engage in disciplinary research business intelligence, smart medical, smart manufacturing, social media, and information security.
